The mission of the Scituate Council on Aging is to identify the unique needs and interests of the senior members of the Scituate community and to implement programs that will enhance their quality of life, foster independence, and ensure the physical and emotional well-being of a growing aging community.


The Senior Center and Community Campus Project

Public information sessions were presented on Monday, March 18 at 1:00 pm; Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, March 30 at 10:30 am; and finally on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:00 pm.

The project was approved by a 2/3 vote at the Special Town Meeting on Monday, May 13. 

The Town Election for Question #1 - Debt Exclusion was on Saturday, May 18 and resulted in a majority vote in favor of the debt exclusion for the project budget of $12.2M.  Documentation and information on the project is available through the town website under Community Campus.


Scituate is officially accepted into the AARP & World Health Organization's Network of Age-Friendly Communities established to guide communities in aspects that support residents of all ages!  Watch here for more information and events to support Live Well Scituate.

First topic: Developing a Resume

Funded by the state’s Executive Office of Elder Affairs and managed by Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA), the Scituate COA is pleased to host this program. We are one of only 16 sites selected by MCOA for this important program for 50+ individuals looking for a new job, a totally new career direction, re-entering the workforce after an employment gap or looking for a Second Act career. Meet, network & learn about a new topic at each biweekly group meeting. Call the Senior Center to pre-register.   Experienced facilitator and guest speakers.
