Fire Department

The Scituate Fire Department provides fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and other emergency services , 24 hours a day, seven day per week. The department is staffed with a career firefighting force consisting of 40 firefighters, 4 Lieutenants, 4 Captains, 1 Deputy Chief, 1 Chief, and 1 Administration Assistant. The Chief of Department also serves as Emergency Management Director.

The EMS service is staffed by regular duty firefighters who are State Certified at the EMT and EMT/Paramedic level. The Department operates Advanced Life Support (ALS) service at the Paramedic level.

The Scituate Public Safety Complex is staffed with 10 civilian dispatchers. Their function is to provide effective dispatch services to fire and police departments.

453.400(primary channel) and 151.175 (secondary channel)

The Department responds to approximately 3,600 incidents per year operating from three stations located throughout the Town. The apparatus consists of three engine companies, one ladder truck, two rescue/ambulances, and one command vehicle. The department also maintains two reserve engines, a dive truck, two rescue boats, one haz-mat trailer. A regional reserve rescue/ambulance is also housed by the Department.
