Burning Permit Application

The Town of Scituate is now issuing burn permits online. Fees will be collected at the time of application by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. By requesting a burn permit you are acknowledging that you have read and understood Scituate’s burning rules and restrictions. It will be necessary to access the burn permit program between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on days that you intend to burn and record your intent to burn. 

The open burning season for residential properties will be from January 15, 2024, through May 1, 2024.

Burning will not be permitted on “Red Flag” days when atmospheric conditions exist that create a hazard as determined by the fire department officer-in-charge and the MassDEP.
