Scituate Community Choice Electricity (CCE) Program

Scituate Community Choice Electricity (CCE) Program: Launching March 2023 with a Standard option rate of 16.710 ¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh) which will remain fixed through December 2024. The Program is a significant value that reflects a local effort to reduce carbon emissions at competitive, fixed pricing. Savings under this program are not guaranteed since future utility rates are unknown.

Scituate, MA - (January 17, 2023) - The Town of Scituate announces that it will launch its electricity aggregation program, Scituate Community Choice Electricity (CCE), in March 2023. The Program is designed to provide new, competitively priced electricity supply options, two of which, Scituate Standard and Scituate Plus, contain more locally generated MA Class 1 renewable energy (the least-emitting New England sources) for residents and businesses in Scituate. The Program was approved by the Town in 2018.

Eligible residents and businesses will receive a letter (if they currently have the utility’s Basic Service option) on behalf of the Town from the winning electricity supplier for the Program, Direct Energy. The letter will provide detailed program information, in addition to instructions on how to choose Scituate Community Choice Electricity options, or how to opt out of Scituate Community Choice Electricity. Enrollment in this program does not impact your utility’s other (non-supply) services, such as invoicing, maintenance, and delivery of electricity. Existing third-party supply contracts and/or low-income rate subsidies are not disrupted. Click HERE for the full Press Release.

For complete information on the Program, visit electricity.scituatema.gov, call the program telephone number at (833) 828-3222, or call the program supplier, Direct Energy, at (866) 968-8065.
