Water Safety Stations At Minot Beach And Egypt Beach

Thanks to the initiative and the efforts of Michael Johnson, our Scituate beaches are safer… Michael partnered with the Scituate Beach Commission to establish Water Safety Stations at the entrances to Minot Beach and Egypt Beach. As a Life Scout with Troop 7 in Scituate, Michael conceived this project as part of his work towards his Eagle Rank. The Water Safety Stations store lifesaving equipment including a boogie board, a life ring, life vests, and a first aid kit to be used in case of emergency. The stations will remain in use from mid-May to mid-October. We hope to add Water Safety Stations at other beaches next summer; if you know a Boy Scout that might be interested in such a project, please contact us.
