Board of Selectmen/Town Administrator

The Town of Scituate is governed by a five-member Board of Selectmen. Among their many roles, the Selectmen serve as the executive branch of Town government and provide overarching policy direction, including economic development direction and guidance. The Board employs a Town Administrator who manages the day to day operations of the Town and appoints all personnel. Additionally, the Selectmen serve as the licensing authority for many business uses such as food and lodging including common victuallers, alcoholic beverages, innkeepers, lodging houses, and entertainment licensing.
