STORM UPDATE

The storm that passed through the region last night caused significant tree damage and power outages throughout the community.  Approximately 70% of the town is currently without power. 

National Grid has categorized this as a Level Three Event and anticipates that restoration of service will occur within the next 24-72 hours.  Additional weather is expected for later this afternoon which could impact the efforts of crews to make line repairs.

Residents should treat all downed wires as live and are asked to call 911 to report any hazards or emergencies.

Scituate Emergency Management will provide additional updates as available and necessary.

TOWN OFFICES

Town Hall is OPEN and has power.  Residents are welcome to come in to charge devices. 

Recreation, Scituate Town Library, and Council on Aging are CLOSED and all classes are cancelled for October 17, 2019.

Transfer Station is closed as per normal schedule.
