The Scituate Sister City Project announces the second January feature film, Some Kind of Funny Porto Rican: A Cape Verdean American Story, presented by the Scituate Sister City Santa Catarina do Fogo Committee. This feature documentary tells the untold tragedy and scandal of what happened to a vibrant community of immigrants from the Cape Verde islands in the Fox Point section of Providence, Rhode Island, who are forcibly displaced by urban renewal to make way for coffee shops, antique stores, and elegantly restored houses. It is the first in a trilogy of documentaries about Cape Verdean communities in the Fox Point section of Providence, Rhode Island.
