Scituate Police Department Press Release

At approximately 1508hrs today the Scituate Public Safety Communication Center received
multiple 911 calls reporting that a male party had jumped from the Edward Foster Bridge and
did not surface.

Emergency units from the Scituate Police and Fire Departments, and Harbormasters office
initially responded and began rescue efforts. Additional local, state and federal assets also
responded and continued search efforts.

At approximately 1545hrs, rescue divers located a male party in the waters just south of the
bridge. The male party was brought ashore and transported to South Shore Hospital. His
condition remains unknown at this time. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Town officials will be available at 6:00pm at the Scituate Harbormasters Office to answer any
questions.
