Scituate New Senior Center / Recreation Center Renovation Project – Update #18
Progress update and upcoming three-week look-ahead schedule
The project has been divided into main work areas as follows:
General/Site Conditions
- Site grading continues
- Installation of piping and structures for the onsite drainage system
- Drainage structure at northwest fence line.
- Installation of site lighting conduit
- Preparation of driveways and parking lot
- Recreation Center new parking lot grading
- Drainage tie-in at Cudworth Road
- Extend construction limits and fencing for parking lot between A Wing Classroom Wing and Sports Field on July 6.
- Binder course for paving tentative for week of July 13.
Senior Center
- Framing of second floor walls and roof
Recreation Center
- Plumbing rough-ins
- Interior framing continues at second floor
- Elevator shaft masonry block and brick veneer
There was no work on July 3 to observe the July 4th holiday.
Please note: the above schedule is based on information provided by the General Contractor during the weekly job meetings, and is subject to change depending on weather, unforeseen conditions, or other reasons.
Also note the current site work involves heavy equipment resulting in noise and vibration.
The current issue with COVID-19 is not expected to delay or halt the construction work, unless directed by local, State, and/or Federal health officials. The contractors are following all guidelines issued by the Commonwealth of MA.
