Road Work Update

The Town has been conducting paving operations on the following streets:

First Parish Road from Branch Street to the railroad tracks work has started. The asphalt leveling course has been placed. A second contractor will begin rebuilding the sidewalk on Monday May 11th . This is expected to take up to 4 to 6 weeks. When the sidewalk is completed the paver will return and apply the final top coat of asphalt. Then the road will be marked with permanent pavement markings. This will be a similar project to the one on Beaver Dam Road last season.

Oceanside Drive from First Ave to Turner Road with a section of Turner Road. The road has been re-established with an asphalt leveling course. A contractor is raising manhole castings now. When this is completed the asphalt paving contractor will come back and do the final paving.

Captain Pierce Road from Country Way to Curtis:  The leveling course of asphalt has been applied to the roadway. A contractor will start raising the castings next week and then the road will be receiving the final paving course.

Torreys Lane: The road will be leveled with asphalt. The work is scheduled to start as the Town completes the larger projects .

Mann Lot Road: This road is being pulverized and graded. The base of this road will be rebuilt and it will allow the Town to widen some of the tighter spots on this road. When the road’s subgrade is rebuilt then the contractor will place the base course of asphalt down. Then the casting and catch basins will be reset. Then final paving applied.

The asphalt contractor performing this work is scheduling the paving operation. The schedule is dependent on production, weather and equipment breakdowns, which directly impacts the timing. All work will start at 7:00 am and should be completed by 5:00 pm. When these roads are under construction they will be open to residents only and traffic will be impacted.
