Plastic Bag Bylaw Effective September 1st

At the November 14, 2018 Special Town Meeting Scituate voters unanimously voted to approve the plastic bag bylaw to reduce the common use of plastic checkout bags and encourage the use of reusable bags.

Effective September 1, 2019, businesses will be required to only provide reusable and recyclable bags and consumers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags. Please see the FAQ's below for additional information.
