March 13 Storm Update #2

Heavy snow began falling around 5:00 AM with high winds and gusts reported as high as 63 MPH throughout the day.  Coastal areas experienced splashover and minor flooding in low lying areas at the 9:15 AM high tide. No further flooding issues are expected from this winter storm. As of 6:00 PM 10 inches of snow have fallen in Scituate east of Rt. 3A with lesser amounts along coastal areas. Overnight snow may add to these totals. DPW crews have roads open, but streets remain treacherous and plow crews will be working throughout the night. DPW crews will be working in the morning to clear roads and sidewalks. We appreciate Scituate residents efforts to stay off the roads and urge caution during tomorrow mornings commute.
