Coastal Awareness

A message from Scituate Emergency Management:

We are forecast to receive dropping temperatures, heavy rain, and experience brisk northeast winds for the Memorial Day weekend. With this extended windy forecast, we are also in a phase of astronomical high tides.

We anticipate some minor coastal flooding, especially in our typical low-lying areas. The Cole Parkway and Mill Wharf parking lots are expected to flood during the night time high tides. Please be aware of these high tides starting Friday night through Sunday night from approximately 1am to 3am.

Unfortunately, it will not be a great weekend for the beaches and boating. If you are planning to be on the water please understand these astronomical tides also bring swifter currents, especially in the North and South Rivers. Be well and Stay safe!

Happy Memorial Day weekend!
