Veterans Day 2025

Post 144 will again celebrate Veterans Day. Scituate Post 144 will provide a free turkey luncheon, with the help of the Voyage restaurant, to all Scituate veterans and one guest. (Extra guest @ $20 ea.) We need a count of those attending by November 7th so please either email me for reservations at [email protected] or call Jean at 617-842-0092. We’d also like to know your branch of service and years served. Reservations are limited to 130.
Reservations are required and will be checked.
On November 11th we will assemble at the flag pole at the Scituate Senior Center at 333 First Parish Rd at 10:45 AM. At 11 AM we’ll start the ceremony with a rifle salute, playing of taps, singing of the National Anthem, and an invocation by our Chaplain. We then will move inside to the banquet room of the senior center where a POW/MIA remembrance will be done and some speeches by notable people will be heard. A cash bar will be available for beer, wine, and some liquor. The meal will consist of: salad, roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potato, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, and gravy. Dessert will be provided by Post 144. Post 144’s Classic Rock band will play 60’s and 70’s music after the meal. The Voyage restaurant in Humarock, a veteran friendly Irish Pub, will be catering this event and donating the food. Our everlasting thanks to the Voyage restaurant and owner Keith O’Callaghan for helping us out. Please patronize this establishment especially if you want an authentic taste of Ireland and good food!
