Scituate Health Department Seeks Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers

SCITUATE -- The Scituate Health Department is currently recruiting volunteers for the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The MRC is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals, as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds. MRC units engage these volunteers to strengthen public health, improve emergencyresponse capabilities and build community resiliency. They prepare for and respond to natural disasters, such aswildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, and floods, as well as other emergencies affecting public health, such as disease outbreaks, vaccination clinics, and shelter operations. Please join us on Thursday, Feb. 28th from 11a.m. – 12 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Center, 2 Edward Foster Rd., Scituate, MA 02066 to learn more about volunteering and registering with the MRC. If you are unable to attend but interested in volunteering with the MRC, please visit MAResponds.org and register under Massachusetts Region4b MRC. Contact: Eileen Scotti, RN escotti@scituatema.gov 781-545-8706  orJoan Schmid, Assistant Director jschmid@scituatema.gov 781-545-8725
