St. Patrick's Day Parade

Parade

A message from Chief Thompson about the upcoming parade.  Additional information can be found at the following link:  https://www.weloveaparade.com/

The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be stepping off at 1:00pm on Sunday March 19th 2023. We are anticipating that this event will draw a large crowd of residents and visitors, particularly throughout our harbor business district. As we prepare for the parade, we’d like to draw attention to some parking and safety concerns:

Parking prohibitions will be strictly enforced along the parade route throughout the duration of the event. Citations will be issued and cars will be towed as necessary. All restricted and no parking areas will be clearly marked by cones, barricades and signs. These prohibitions include no parking along Kent Street (except for the east side of the roadway near the St. Mary’s Parish Center), as well as, no parking on any section of Edward Foster Road.

Due to road closures and the increased volume of pedestrians and vehicles anticipated in the area, traffic delays should be expected. Speed limits and traffic regulations will be strictly enforced throughout the community, with extra patrols being added specifically for this purpose.

All visitors are strongly encouraged to use the Widows Walk Golf Course parking lot and available shuttle buses to travel to the event. We ask that everyone please pay attention to officers on duty at the event and do not hesitate to approach any officer regarding questions or concerns that you may have. Please remember – If you see something, say something.

Also, please keep in mind that public consumption of alcoholic beverages and marijuana are prohibited in the Town of Scituate and will be enforced throughout the parade. The Scituate Police Department looks forward to another great event this year and will be working diligently to ensure the safety of all participants and visitors.
