The Town of Scituate's Patrol Division is made up of 25 Officers who are the primary responders to all calls for service. Patrol Officers respond to all calls from routine building checks to the most serious offenses. The Patrol Division covers all calls for service within the Town of Scituate and patrols all areas; including the Humarock portion which can only be accessed through the neighboring Town of Marshfield.
On average, the Scituate Police Department responds to approximately 16,000 calls a year.
Patrol vehicles are equipped with emergency equipment to better assist officers when responding to the various types of calls for service. Among this equipment are Mobile Data Terminals, Life Preservers, Survival Suits, MV Lockout tools, First Aid Kits, and Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AED's).
