About Us

The Scituate Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the Town of Scituate and is comprised of 35 full-time sworn officers, 8 part-time sworn officers and a full-time Natural Resources officer.  Scituate, Massachusetts is a seacoast community in Plymouth County, located approximately 25 miles south of Boston and encompasses nearly 32 square miles; approximately 14 of which is water.  We are home to just under 20,000 residents and have a summer population which grows to over 30,000.  The agency is operated with two primary divisions; a patrol division and a special operations division.  Each is overseen by a Lieutenant, who is under the direct command of the Deputy Chief of the Department.  Our patrol operations function 24x7x365 and our specialists handle functions such as investigations, school resource, maritime operations, K-9 and traffic enforcement.
