What's a Bike Bus??

A bike bus is when instead of getting on the bus, the students with parent chaperon, follow the bike route, pick up interested riders, and off to school they go as a group!  A dedicated parent rides down to the school to meet them at dismissal and guide them home.   The O'hearn family with three children at Jenkins ride from Third Cliff ride every possible day unless there is inclement weather, and others in the neighborhood often join.  Almost 2 miles each way, the children are biking 4 miles a day commuting to school often in less time than a bus ride. Scituate has a bike bus!
