Winter Weather Advisory

SCITUATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

Good afternoon,

We wanted to inform you of some winter weather coming our way. This afternoon strong southwest winds with gusts to 45mph will impact our area. We do not anticipate any power issues unless the winds become stronger.

Early Thursday morning we are forecast to get snow beginning between 6am-7am going into early afternoon. We are expecting up to 2” of snow that will make our morning commute a challenge. Please drive safe and allow for extra time for anticipated slow travel. Extremely cold temperatures will return late Thursday with wind chills below zero overnight.

Last, we are watching a potential coastal storm for this Saturday. The current forecast has the brunt of the storm going south of us with some minor snow accumulation along the South Shore and Cape. Please stay informed as this storm track could shift closer increasing our impacts.

Be well & stay safe!
