Road Work Update

Paving

The contractor will begin roadway milling and paving of Old Oaken Bucket Road beginning Monday, August 8, 2022 at 7 am. The contractor will begin at the rotary and head west to the Norwell Town line. The roadway will be open to local traffic only. All other vehicles should use an alternate route. Work is expected to last 5-7 days weather permitting. Following work on Old Oaken Bucket Road, the contractor will be paving Maple Street from Old Oaken Bucket Road to Grove Street. An update will be provided as the schedule develops. Following Maple Street, the contractor will be milling and paving Brook Street and Tilden Road from Front Street to the lights at Beaver Dam Road. Castings on Tilden Road and Brook Street will be raised on Tuesday August 9th and Wednesday August 10th.

Utility work will begin on the Cedarwood, Utility Road neighborhood beginning on Monday August 8, 2022 at 7 am. Covers and castings will be removed prior to the roadway reconstruction. The roadways in this neighborhood will be pulverized beginning on Monday, August 15, 2022 and reshaped prior to paving. Residents are asked to refrain from parking on the roadway during the project.

The Scituate Department of Public Works appreciates your patience as we begin the 2022 paving season. Other roadways in Town are expected to see paving operations this fall. Weekly updates and message boards will be used to provide timely updates on the projects as the schedules develops.
