Coastal Storm Advisory

SCITUATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TEAM

Good afternoon,

Most of eastern Massachusetts is under a winter storm warning with the forecast calling for 4”- 8” of snow in our area. Snow is anticipated to start after 2 AM Friday morning and continue into the early afternoon. With the heaviest snow expected between 5 AM & 10 AM the highest impact will be with the morning commute.

Please try to stay clear of the roads during this time so our plows can effectively clear the streets for safe travel. We also ask for your patience, several of our plow drivers are out with Covid. This may extend the time getting some of the side streets done.

We do not expect any coastal flooding or any significant power issues with this storm due to nominal high tides and moderately strong winds coming from the northwest. The winds will be gusty enough to make travel difficult with steady winds 20-25mph, gusts to 35mph, so please try to stay home during this time if you have that option.

If you have any questions or need additional services please call the public safety dispatch at 781-545-1212 or 781-545-5515.

Stay well & be safe!
