Beach Closings & Lifeguard Staffing

BEACH TESTING RESULTS FOR AUGUST 21, 2014

  • Peggotty Beach – < 10 (REMAINS CLOSED TO SWIMMING)

NOTE:  Although the single result above for Peggotty Beach is acceptable, Peggotty remains closed to swimming because the geomean of the last five samples remains above the acceptable limit of 35 colonies per 100 mL of water.

Based on the above results, the following beaches are open:

  • Egypt

  • Minot

  • Humarock

  • Lighthouse

  • Sand Hills

LIFEGUARD STAFFING CHANGE:

Please be advised that as of Saturday, August 23, 2014, the only beach that will be staffed by lifeguards is HUMAROCK.  This beach will remain covered through Labor Day, September 1, 2014.  All others will remain unstaffed.
