Discussion
Keith discussed some project ideas and their limitations to be considered. It would be great to be able to prioritize our ideas. Nancy suggested that we review the terminology to understand the report. The Assessment of Coastal Erosion presentation is on April 28 from 6-8pm at the SHS Cafeteria.
John Ramsey, Applied Coastal Research (ACR), is the professional that is doing the coastal survey. He will give the presentation. The Coastal Advisory Commission was utilized to create communication with the community. Education and Outreach is an important part of the job of our committee. Also to communicate policy to the public, such as to keep roadways clear during storms. Keith discussed outside education from ACR we need to continue to provide informational speakers for our meetings to educate ourselves. We discussed how to address questions of easements. Maura brought up funding options and takings vs easements.
Communication needs to be maintained between William Sheehan and the secretary to maintain the CAC town web page. We need to formulate ideas of how can we organize and improve our page. Also Nancy has a page of flood mitigation info we should incorporate into our page, ie, Shoreline change website, Stormsmart coast link, Mass.gov/czm, Environmental restrictions. These would be good to provide as links on our site.
Rebecca Haney, Presenter will be at our next meeting.
