Beautification Commission
It is the Mission of the Scituate Beautification Commission to enhance the beauty of the Town through planting and maintaining selected public spaces, using community resources.
Volunteers take care of 30 small gardens and traffic islands, while a professional is contracted to maintain 12 islands at 5 commuter rail crossings. The Commission also supports the planting of flower boxes by the merchants in Scituate Harbor and North Scituate.
In the Spring we coordinate “SHIP SHAPE DAY,” a Town-wide volunteer clean-up effort.
The Commission is looking for volunteers and/or board members who are willing to share a little of their time to keep Scituate beautiful and blooming.
A few of the gardens maintained by the Beautification Commission are shown.
