COMMISSION ON DISABILITIES MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, January 9, 2020
Public Library – Large Conference Room
 
MEMBERS PRESENT: Megan Sommer (Chairperson), Athena Brodsky (Treasurer), Linda Fulton (Vice Chairperson), Jeffrey Dougan (Secretary), and Jamie Coleman.

1.  	Call to Order.  
Chairperson Megan Sommer called the meeting to order at 7:33 PM at the Large Conference Room at the Public Library. 

2.	Public Comment.
Since no public was present, this agenda item closed early.   
 
3.	Acceptance of Past Minutes.
Ms. Brodsky mentioned the “month” under item 4 of the draft minutes for 11/14/19 should read “November” rather than “October”.
Ms. Brodsky motioned to accept the November minutes on condition of the change, seconded by Mr. Coleman. Motion passed unanimously.

4.	Boston Globe Article. 
Ms. Sommer referenced an article related to the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board that was in the Globe. 

5. 	Accessibility Awareness Event.
Ms. Fulton reported planning is underway. Logistics, such as space, time, and notification planning the events publicity are in the works. 
Date of the event is March 28, 2020 from 10:30am-1:30pm at Saint Mary’s Parish Hall.  

6.	CoD Public Relations.
Mr. Coleman continues to work on this process and write-up. 

7.	Treasurer’s Report.
Ms. Brodsky reported that the FY20 General Fund has a balance of $5000; 22G Fund has a balance of $5,085; and the Gift Fund has a balance of $0.
Mr. Dougan motioned to accept the report. Seconded by Ms. Fulton. Motion passed unanimously. 

8.	Matters not Reasonably Anticipated 48 Hours in Advance.
Ms. Sommer discussed the annual town report for the COD is being prepared. Discussions related to the successful initiatives and programs that the COD has been part of over the past year were discussed.

9. 	Adjournment.
Meeting adjourned at 8:08pm.
 
Next Meeting will be on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:30 pm at the conference room of the Public Library.
