Scituate’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be taking place on Sunday March 18th at 1:00pm. This is a great community and family event that has been enjoyed in Scituate for many years. Historically, the parade has drawn a large number of spectators to the harbor business district which can lead to some traffic, parking and safety concerns.
As in years past, parking restrictions will be strictly enforced along the parade route and intersecting side streets. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed or towed as appropriate.
Parking on Kent Street will only be allowed on the southbound side of the roadway and vehicles must not park or obstruct the sidewalk. No parking will be allowed on Edward Foster Road.
Due to the large influx of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the areas around the parade route, speed limits and traffic laws will be strictly enforced. Motorists traveling in Scituate on the 18th should anticipate congestion and delays.
It is highly recommend that visitors utilize the Greenbush MBTA Parking Lot and take advantage of the complimentary shuttle for travel to and from the event.
We request that visitors pay attention to instructions from Police Officers at the event and immediately direct any questions or concerns to them. We’d also like to remind everyone attending the event that the public consumption of alcoholic beverages in Scituate is prohibited and will be enforced throughout the event.
This is a wonderful community event and the Scituate Police Department will be working diligently to ensure the safety of all visitors and participants. I wish you all a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
