Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) planning

The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) grant program provides support for cities and towns in Massachusetts to begin the process of planning for climate change resiliency and implementing priority projects. The state awards communities with funding to complete vulnerability assessments and develop action-oriented resiliency plans. Communities who complete the MVP program become certified as an MVP community and are eligible for MVP Action Grant funding and other opportunities.

In 2018, the Town of Scituate's Climate Vulnerability and Action Plan ("MVP Plan") was approved and the Town became MVP certified by the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.  The MVP Plan, titled Building a Resilient Scituate, is available on this website.

In 2018, the Town of Scituate received an MVP Action Grant to evaluate the vulneratbility of the Town’s Wastewater Collection and Treatment System .  Information on this grant project will be made available on this website as it becomes available.
