Water Construction Update

Gannett Road: Water services relocation has been completed. The Town will be looking at the Roadway and addressing the bumps caused by the work. The trenches will be ground out and repaved in the spring. This road is not scheduled to be paved because of the potential for the installation of the North Scituate Sewer Project.

Mann Lot Road and Booth Hill Road: The water repairs are complete. The Town has made improvements to the trench pavement. The road will be evaluated in the spring.

Water Flushing: The Town has completed 9 of 9 phases of a UDF (uni-directional flushing). This is the entire Town with the exception of the HSZ (High Service Zone) and Humarock. The HSZ is west of 3A and is the area that is controlled by a pump station to elevate the water pressure for fire protection.  The Town has started flushing but has been delayed because of weather but plans to restart 1.24.20.

Residents in Humarock may experience lower water pressures then they usually experience. If you have a pressure reduction valve at your meter it may need to be adjusted. DPW will be working in conjunction with the fire department to calibrate the water pressure.

Water Study: The study is being completed and will be scheduled for a presentation to the Selectmen on 2.04.2020 during the selectmen’s meeting.
