Storm Update

The Scituate Emergency Operations Center opened at 7:00 this morning in preparation for today’s storm.    As of 11:46 this morning we have had two to three inches of snow accumulation in much of Scituate with heavy snow and near blizzard conditions continuing. Representatives from Columbia Gas and National Grid are working out of the EOC.  National Grid reports outages to approximately 200 homes in the Minot area and Scituate Avenue.  Many roads are now impassable due to flooding. Roads affected include Oceanside Dr., Rebecca Rd., Lighthouse Rd., Jericho Rd., Edward Foster Rd., Cole Parkway, Front St. and Central Avenue in Humarock.  The National Guard has a presence in town and are currently assisting emergency personnel with an evacuations on Second Ave. and Gannett Rd. High tide is at 12:37. 

The Scituate Emergency Storm Shelter opened at 7:00 this morning and currently is sheltering three Scituate residents. Please stay off the roads as conditions are deteriorating quickly.  If you require transportation to the emergency shelter call 781-545-8749. Call 911 to report any emergencies.
