Scituate New Senior Center / Recreation Center Renovation Project – Update #25

Progress update and upcoming three-week look-ahead schedule

The project has been divided into main work areas as follows:

General/Site Conditions

• Prep and install asphalt and concrete sidewalks
• Plantings delivered on 10/15. Install to start week of 10/19
• Closing of old Gates School entry and demolition of asphalt
• Tree at gym removed on 10/15 by DPW

Senior Center

• Exterior trim and siding continues
• Drywall 1^st and 2^nd floor
• Insulation continues
• MEPFP rough-ins continue
• Elevator install continues
• Brick delivery
• Stair #2 install

Recreation Center

• Brick delivery
• Framing
• MEP rough-ins continue
• Drywall to start
• Elevator continues
• Front canopy prep

Please note: the above schedule is based on information provided by the General Contractor during the weekly job meetings, and is subject to change depending on weather, unforeseen conditions, or other reasons.

Also note site work involves heavy equipment resulting in noise and vibration.

The current issue with COVID-19 is not expected to delay or halt the construction work, unless directed by local, State, and/or Federal health officials. The contractors are following all guidelines issued by the Commonwealth of MA.
