Scituate New Senior Center / Recreation Center Renovation Project – Update #13

Progress update and upcoming three-week look-ahead schedule

The project has been divided into main work areas as follows:

General/Site Conditions

• Site grading continues
• Installation of onsite utilities and structures for drainage and sewer system
• Date of installation of sewer connection in First Parish Road to be determined
• Installation of underground electric
• Recreation Center new parking lot layout to start

   

Senior Center

• Underground plumbing and electric
• Prep and pour slab-on-grade

Recreation Center

• Door and temp railing for ramp
• Asbestos abatement on 1^st and 2^nd floor gym lobby area.
• Installation of temporary dust partitions after abatement

Please note: the above schedule is based on information provided by the General Contractor during the weekly job meetings, and is subject to change depending on weather, unforeseen conditions, or other reasons.

Also note the current work involves heavy equipment resulting in noise and vibration.

The current issue with COVID-19 is not expected to delay or halt the construction work, unless directed by local, State, and/or Federal health officials. The contractor is following all guidelines issued by the Commonwealth of MA.
