Scituate Harbor Jetty Repair

Beginning Monday September 10, 2018 crews will begin preparing for the repair of the outer jetty at Scituate Harbor.  Repairs to the jetty are being made by the US Army Corps of Engineers and their contractor.  The work will begin by mobilizing onsite construction trailers in the western section of the parking lot at the Lighthouse followed by the delivery of heavy equipment that will be used to make the repairs to the jetty. Stones will be hauled to the site from the water on large barges. The work is expected to occur from September thru December 2018 Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Traffic will be rerouted along the northern travel lane of the Lighthouse parking lot and visitors to the lighthouse are urged to park along the east portion of the parking lot and use extreme caution when in the area as heavy equipment activities will be occurring on the jetty and near the Lighthouse.  Pictures of the construction site plan are attached. Questions about the project should be directed to Eric Crockett at the US Army Corps of Engineers at 508-994-4243 Eric.W.Crockett@usace.army.mil or the Scituate Harbor Master Office at 781-545-2130.
