A Message from Emergency Management

High Wind/Rain Advisory

Good afternoon,

A High Wind advisory is forecast as a cold-front is expected to transit through our area Wednesday afternoon into early evening. Ahead of this front, southerly winds are expected to be gusty through the early afternoon then strengthening with the strongest winds anticipated between 3pm and 9pm. The high winds and heavy rain are forecast to coincide with Wednesday’s evening commute making travel conditions challenging.

The strongest wind gusts could exceed 55mph. If this occurs we may experience some tree and limb damage which will likely cause isolated power outages. Please be aware of downed power lines. If you witness downed power lines stay clear and dial 911 for the fire department and report any power/wire issues to National Grid at 800-465-1212 or Eversource for Humarock residents at 800-286-2000.

We may experience some localized street flooding with the heavy rain, please clear your storm drains in your neighborhood to minimize this potential.

Be well & stay safe!
