Mass 2-1-1 is a non-emergency disaster resource referral service for people who need assistance during the recovery process of a significant event.  Mass 2-1-1 collaborates with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and local offices of emergency management to provide citizens with critical information and non-emergency assistance before, during, and after emergency or disaster events.  The MASS 211 NON EMERGENCY AND DISASTER SERVICES LINE relieves pressure on the 911 and emergency response teams by providing contact center services for citizens needing critical non-emergency public information and referrals for multiple needs.  Mass 211 also supports mass transportation services during severe weather or other events by acting as a backup contact center to existing mass transit public information services.  The following are available resources and information offered through 211:

  • HVAC                                                               
  • Medical Personnel                 
  • Insurance Claims                                           
  • Clothing
  • Shelter                                    
  • Emergency Food
  • Transportation
  • Oxygen needs                                     

SANDS is a Mass COAD (Community Organization Active in Disasters) located in Scituate

VOADS are a Federal & State Level support service & SANDS is for Scituate residents

MASS 211 also applies to runaways’ assistance, childcare, mental health and child requiring assistance.

Family Assistance or Reception Center (FAC/FRC) may not provide all the information
