Current Projects and Initiatives

EDC’s first project was to conduct a survey of local businesses on economic development needs. They also engaged the Metropolitan Area Regional Planning Commission (MAPC) to prepare the Scituate Market Analysis and Economic Development Plan to address challenges and opportunities for economic development in Scituate. As a follow up to the economic development plan, the EDC was provided funding to implement many of the recommendations and undertake new initiatives.

Currently, the EDC is working on several initiatives to support, market and promote business development and tourism in Scituate:

Organize meetings with businesses and property owners, residents, civic organizations, town officials and other people interested in economic and community development in Scituate.
