Town of Scituate Library Building Project

Construction Project Update Public Building Commission
January 31, 2017 For immediate release, Scituate, MA
The Public Building Commission of the Town of Scituate, Massachusetts will issue
periodic public updates about the construction progress for the Town Library project.
Groundbreaking occurred on September 1, 2015. The project remains on budget.
Completion is expected for Spring 2017.
Construction is 88% complete. Materials for most millwork is on-site and door frames
and baseboards are being installed. Framework for the main level ceiling is complete
and the panel boards are being placed. The tile work has been installed in the lower
level bathrooms and fixtures will be added soon. Exterior lighting and signage has been
installed.
Furniture and shelving have been ordered and will be delivered on site near
suPBCbstantial completion. South Shore Vocational Technology High School is
finalizing the construction of the unique bike rack. Interior signage is being produced
and will incorporate the winning photographs from the recent town-wide contest.
