FEMA FIRM MAP INFORMATIONAL MEETING

The Towns of Marshfield, Scituate and Duxbury will hold an informational session for residents of these  communities affected by new flood maps issued by FEMA on November 9, 2015.  These maps were generated as a result of the successful appeal of the three communities which cited errors in the original FIRM maps issued in 2012.

Leslie Fields of the Woods Hole Group, who lead the towns appeal submittal, will be on hand to provide an overview of the maps, their application, and how it will affect properties.   Town of Scituate staff members will be available to answer your questions. Federal and state representatives are also expected to be on hand.

The new maps change elevations, certain boundaries and zone designations. In order to understand what this means for your home please attend the December 3 meeting. At this time, the Town and residents must submit any comments by December 6.

The maps are currently viewable on the Town of Scituate website at www.scituatema.gov.
