IMPORTANT MEETING NOTICE

On February 7th, 2017 at 6:00pm at Furnace Brook Middle School Auditorium in Marshfield, FEMA staff from both Region 1 Boston and from FEMA Headquarters in Washington D.C. will be holding a meeting to answer questions on flood insurance, the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) appeal, and more. Below is from the Town:

“Prior to the public meeting, Representatives from FEMA Headquarters in Washington D.C as well as FEMA Staff from Boston Region I offices in Boston will be participating in a working meeting relating to improvements to the newly approved flood maps which are now in effect. Senators Markey and Warren and Congressmen Keating and Lynch will have staff representatives at the meeting. State Representatives as well as State Senators will be in attendance as well. Each Town will be represented by their Boards of Selectmen and professional support staff.

The primary purpose of the public meeting is to provide a short presentation by FEMA on Flood Insurance Policies and steps policy holders can take now, as well as to answer questions about Flood Insurance. There will also be a short summary on the mapping process, followed by a Flood Insurance Policy Question and Answer session.”
