How do I know if I have to come before the Conservation Commission?

Activities located within 100 ft. of a coastal or inland wetland, within 200 ft. of a perennial river and/or stream, within 250 ft. of a Vernal Pool or within an area mapped as flood hazard zone, requires approval by the Conservation Commission in accordance with the Scituate By-Laws and Wetland Regulations. If you are uncertain if you trigger permitting or review, please call or email the office. Additional assistance may be necessary from a wetlands biologist to determine if your project is located in or within 100 feet of wetlands.
